I would also like to know how the N.J. And S.J. differ. I know there is lots of info out there but I want to hear personal ideas.

Or perhaps I have not found the answers I am looking for. I have another thread in the general section. Maybe you would be so kind as to give it a look and add to it Hermano.

The AASR is reputed to be "the University of Freemasonry." The degrees present beautiful lessons which add on to the strong structure you have built in the blue lodge. I became a 32 degree Mason in 2010 and look forward to going back to each reunion as you will always pick up on new things each and every time. If you're looking to continue learning and you are serious about it, then I highly recommend it. Just remember that you will only get out of it what you put into it

Comparing SJ and NJ AASR - The Northern Jurisdiction made significant changes to the early number degrees so they have very different content. By the time you get to about the 10th or so the content comes together and is very much the same. I think the lessons are the same just presented differently.

Not being a York Rite Mason I don't have a comparison to offer.

I am 32nd Scottish rite and Knight Templar. The Scottish rite is as explained before above, the York rite (to me) is and continuation of the degrees in your blue Lodge. It is very beautiful work and is most expressive on your mind and heart. To me it was very binding to my faith.

I am going into Scottish Rite on sat . A bit nervous been so busy working haven't brushed up on proficiency.
Plus I'm from CT in the middle of separation with wife and I'm joining the NJ valley.
But like blue lodge is all brothers, I will be walking in there alone not knowing one person .
Anxious and nervous .
