Chapter & Council office

Congrats Crono! I don't have any advice you probably don't know already: knowing the ritual makes for a smooth meeting and some type of education gives people a reason to come.

We actually did a lot of education since we usually have very little business to talk about, thankfully.

Wishing you the best in the East. :)

Congratulations. I am a District Deputy Grand high Priest, so the best advice I can give you is stay on top of your Chapter membership (encourage people to attend) and focus on your ritual (opening and closing). If the EHP is confident in opening and closing the Chapter, the companions follow. Make sure you have a Captain of the Host who is confident and proficient in his job. That will make your job much easier.

I've been elected to be MEHP and TIM this coming year and am very excited and honored to serve. Any insights from past has-beens? ;D

Congrats! I'd recommend getting your ritual opening and closing down quickly and participate in the conferral of the degrees! As in lodge, the companions follow strong leaders! One other thing, you might want to learn and practice opening with five- when I was a DDGHP I discovered that not many companions know how to do that, so you might want to add that to your leadership skill set. Best of luck in your Capitular and Cryptic year!

For the Grand Chapter of Idaho I am the Grand Principal Sojourner and for the Grand Council I am the Grand Steward. At my local bodies I'm a PHP, PCW (PIM), and Sentinel (PEC).

I've been nominated to serve as District Deputy for Chapter in the upcoming year. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Enjoy your year as District Deputy (Chapter or Council? )- I was DDGHP for Capitular District 22 here in Texas in 2012 and it was a great year. I had 6 Chapters in my district and kept very busy!

I have the biggest district in the state with eight Chapters. It keeps you busy.
Here, DDGHP isn't necessarily a one-year thing. As long as you are willing to do it, and the incoming MEGHP doesn't want to change, it's yours. I am still District Deputy this year on top of being Grand Royal Arch Captain. I didn't figure I was supposed to have both at once, but when I mentioned searching for my successor, I got told I was keeping it!

I'm not sure I could have done back-to-back years and kept up with my work in my other bodies. My hat's off to you!
