Slightly detouring your topic, no dues cards in UGLE.

My US dues cards have the GL on them, but they'd be awfully easy to counterfeit with the right colored card stock.
When your getting ready to enter the Lodge as a visitor, how do they check to see if you are a worthy brother ? " I know the other way to check but I'm speaking on financial status"

There is no uniform standard for Dues Cards but do your due diligence by going to www.princehall-pa.org go to 1st Masonic district and look for Clarence C. Kittrell, #149..still have questions contact GL CFC... Questions about MWPHGL of PA go to the mother lodge of Masonry,
www.ugle.org.uk/about/foreign-grand-lodges. I would also recommend going to www.princehall.org and learn about African Lodge, #459 Mother Lodge of Prince Hall Masonry, and our charter from Grand Lodge of England(UGLE)..oh and the fact that majority of PH GL's in the U.S. got there start from MWPHGL of PA formally known as African Lodge #459b, 1797 established by MW Brother Prince Hall. Our first GM Rev. Absalom Jones. If you want to know about Prince Hall its at your finger tips.

Trust but verify!

Oh, you were doing so good until you described UGLE as the mother lodge of Freemasonry :)

Well in my opinion (biased) meaning back when we Prince Hall Mason's received our charter being back then two competing GL's the Grand Lodge of England and Antients believe united in 1800's..thank you for reminding me my elder most wise brother!

Under GLoTX, the fact that a Brother has a current dues card signifies that he is current in his dues, as the card is not issued until he pays them. Also, something different about us is that when we say a Brother is "in good standing", we mean not only that he is current in his dues but also that he does not have Masonic charges pending against him.

I'm willing to bet ours mean the same, but I have never looked that far into it. I rarely ever hear of a brother mason having charges brought up against him. I prefer to keep it that way. Lol

My understanding of Masonic jurisprudence on our side of the fence is that having charges pending or being charged should not factor..until you have a Masonic trial and have been found guilty and just like our legal system you can appeal. Very interesting

Not recently but about 10 years ago..the lodge I was in at time, the Junior Warden acts as the prosecutor and the brethren acts as jury and the accused can have counsel.

Hmm. I wonder if other GLs have this rule

If you came to my lodge and showed me a dues card, I'd be polite and ignore it and examine you. Flashing some card will not get you entry here. For overseas masons, we normally look for a Patent Letter or a MM Cert. Although we not have a dues card, it is not widely used. It is electronic and like a credit card, and we have one building where you need it to enter the secirity system, most brothers need to be let in because they don't have it with them

In the Grand Lodge of Texas, your dues card and id is all you should need to visit although I had to be vouched for once after I was raised.
