you should contact your local lodge for the ansers to those questions.

Question for you...Are you coming from a clandestine lodge? If you are I would suggest that you do take your degrees again.

Honestly, I dont want to go through another initiation and pay for those degrees again, and I highly doubt i will get a refund from modern fee

Maybe you could work something out that you didn't have to pay for the degrees again and just the affiliation fees. But I highly recommend that you take your degrees in a legitimate lodge.

@JB93, in my opinion it's not necessary for you to repeat the degrees for healing process meaning going through the classes or with a new group of new candidates. In my jurisdiction that is not required in our constitution we have a specific ceremony for healing.

Our DDGM meets with you prior to being healed where you are asked the certain questions...hint...hint. Your have to turn in all your certificates, rituals, apron..etc. from the " clandestine lodge " or irregular lodge. To the secretary( placed in the archives of the lodge ) of the lodge your before being healed into.

On a regular schedule meeting lodge is opened and DDGM, usually in attendance. You renounce your previous affiliation..etc and receive ob for all 3 degrees from pillars..no big deal really is kind of beautiful ceremony. I've taken part being the JW for my lodge.

Welcome to the Prince Hall Family Brother!

FYI, you usually pay the dues for the lodge including Grand Lodge Tax and whatever the fee for healing..I never heard paying for each degree..sounds suspect.

In both my jurisdictions (OR and NM) there is an "initiation fee" this fee covers your degrees and first full year of dues....meaning in OR I paid $150 for initiation in February of 13 I didn't have to pay dues till Jan of 15.

Yes, as Brother jdmad stated that's a sham! It's a shame but now you can understand why they are called clandestine or irregular for that reason and a lot more..

Our dues 80.00 for the year GL tax 100.00 total of 180.00 for the year and you can pay it quarterly if you wanted.

There are regular lodges who have a degree fee. It seems that these are generally charged in jurisdictions where you only pay membership fees as a MM, but different jurisdictions (and lodges for that matter) have different structures. The most expensive (legitimate) lodge I've ever heard of is $850 per year plus Grand Lodge fee - but it is a dinning lodge which has an orchestra. That particular lodge is like all here - there is no degree fees to be advanced and the annual lodge fees are all you pay. Typically they might be from $50 to $350 per year.

Under GLoTX, candidates pay a fee for each of the three degrees, set by the individual Lodges. One does not pay dues until raised a MM, at which time he becomes a member of the Lodge.

We were talking about healing, there is no individual pricing for degrees on healing. In our jurisdiction.

Likewise by our constitution and bylaws we only conduct business on the 3rd degree and the lodge must be opened and closed on such. ( lodge is raised or lowered depending on degree work and or instruction ). Business is only conducted on the 3rd. Our Petition / Application includes fee for all 3 symbolic degrees and dues prorated.

It's interesting to hear how other jurisdictions does their work..

Thanks Bill, I knew I'd read that and was pretty sure it was TX but was not sure enough to say...
