First Commandery Inspection

Last night my KT Commandery opened on the long form for our annual inspection. This was my first participation as I just recently bought my uniform and accessories. I had a great time and we did pretty well if I say so myself, lol.

Do all members need the uniform to attend those meetings or just officers?
Any member can attend the meetings and ceremonies and observe from the sidelines. I have been a member for 14 months. But in order to take part and perform in ceremonies where any kind of drill is required you have to be uniformed. Also to hold office you have to be uniformed.

Congratulations.
I've gone on record in other threads as not being a general fan of Commandery inspections. It is nice, though, when you get 40+ in uniform in attendance.

Whats a commandery inspection? Do they check on ritual performance or something else?

In Tennessee, Commandery inspections are done when we confer the Order of the Temple. Someone has a grade book, and every word, step, and sword movement is scrutinized from the first to the last. If you miss anything, points are deducted.

In the case in question it was a yearly inspection on our ability to precisely and correctly open the KT meeting on the long form. We are also graded on other things throughout the year, such as the Order of the Temple ritual mentioned.
