Knight of St. Andrew

It went really well. The entire meeting is very informal compared to Blue Lodge. We sat with the Knights of St. Andrew for the meeting and the AfterGlow. We had a great time. I haven't turned in my petition yet. I want to get a good understanding of the various bodies and guilds before I submit my petition.

On Sunday I'm going to have a Scottish Rite conversation with one of my Blue Lodge brothers who is also a 33rd degree. He is going to give me the lay of the land of the organization - if that's the right word and explain how all of the pieces fit together if that makes sense. With the convocation I have degrees in all of the bodies and I want to understand the officer structure of each body and council. Once I understand, I will probably still petition KSA because that's where my friends are and from there I'll decide where else to participate. I'm thinking about joining a cast, that might be fun too.

That's what I did. I waited 6 months after being raised to join appendant bodies but a lot of people join right after being raised. Each person has to do what is right for him, to each his own. I didn't join Masonry until after I retired. I have plenty of time to devote to my duties and that is a good thing....I hold 6 offices and in about 4 weeks I'll probably hold 7, lol.

I'm semi retired at this point I'm an adjunct instructor for Harrison College based in Indiana. I primarily teach exclusively online now. I started out in the classroom. I teach Group Dynamics, Leadership, Management and a couple of other classes when I get the chance.

I'm going in the officer line at our Blue Lodge, in one of the appointed positions. Our WM and incoming WM have talked to me and I said I didn't join to sit on the sidelines. I want to be in the East when the time is right, whenever they think I'm ready and I know that is 5 or 6 years away. I served as a Jr. Steward for a recent EA Degree

For the Scottish Rite, I want to eventually serve as an officer in one of the bodies but I need to understand how it works so I'll wait to do that, but I don't want to sit on the sidelines long so I will most likely join KSA and its a good fit because my name is Andrew. :D
