At one on my Lodges, we have an Apron night where you are to wear your original apron. Interesting to see the old aprons. It also helps to remind you where it is and helps remind a spouse where it can be found.
I had a 2003 PDF of a Texas version that also contained the GM Notes on Decisions. Very helpful to have the questions and answers on what they were thinking
I have put forth a suggestion that the Lodge buy, or Brothers contribute to buying, black robes and white gloves for everyone. That way, regardless of what you have underneath, we are all the same. Plus, hard to text with gloves on.
I remember reading an article in the Illinois Freemasonry magazine several years ago that said that dues were originally set at about one month's wages with the rationale that it should be enough to be important to you. Traveling abroad has taught me that the cost of membership is much higher...
I visited Argentine, Paraguay, Italy, and Malta. Each time, I had a local sponsor, so I just went straight through them. Seems like the first time, I contacted the GL of Texas, but I don't think I got a response before I left.
If we allowed ALL MM's to vote, Lodges in the vicinity of Waco would be in a much stronger position than those in Amarillo, El Paso, Atlanta, Brownsville, etc.
