Lodge Elections are over for me!

Well Brothers, the Lodge elections, for me, are over for this Masonic year. I got elected as Junior Warden in my Home Lodge and got elected as Senior Warden in my affiliate Lodge. I know it sounds as though I am tooting my own horn, but, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I hope I am wrong and I can handle both jobs. I guess time will tell.

Congratulations and good luck to you!

Only time will tell, just how much you can "chew"...

Thank you, Bro. Stewart. Any advice? I'm fast approaching that Oriental chair, and I need all the help I can get. Oh, and I'll edit my signature after the installation.

Let us know when you go to sit in the wrong seat! "Brother, i believe that is my seat youre keeping warm for me." Heh...

On the plus side you will be able to sit in the west in a pinch in your home lodge.

For comparison - Some jurisdictions allow a brother to hold chairs in more than one lodge as long as none of those chairs is Worshipful Master. The WM chair is judged onerous enough to demand exclusive duty while other chairs are not so judged. As I am from jurisdictions with that rule my advice is to proceed to the oriental chair in one lodge and be out of a chair for that year in your other lodge. Then resume chairs once out of the east. Not good news for San Angelo Lodge should you follow my advice but that's what I suggest.

Thank you for the words of wisdom, my brothers. I shall take all of them to heart and use all of them as best I can.

Brother Roy,
Where and when will your installment be held?
We are having ours on July 13th at Ft. McKavitt. It's a short drive and all Masons are welcome.

Installation for my Home Lodge (San Angelo 570) will be at the lodge on 2 July at 7:30; meal at 6:30. Installation at my Affiliate Lodge (Phil Head 1415[Carlsbad]) will be at the lodge in Carlsbad on 16 July at 7:30; meal at 6:30. You are welcome to attend both if you like.

Congratulations, Bro. Vance. It sounds like you will be a busy man.

No doubt that you're up for the challenge. I wish you the best.

My advice--put together a survey that polls your members, asking specifically what they want from Lodge. Send it out with the dues notices. Their responses will help you tailor your year in the East to better serve your Brothers.

I did this when I sat in the West, and it was well received. I can send you my questionnaire if you'd like.

Fraternally,
Brad Marrs
