Next week I interview for an instructor position at work. This could be a great boost for my family as well as my Masonic life. It will afford me more time and hopefully more money. Please keep me in your prayers.

I GOT IT. I got the position. I will start in a couple of weeks as a CDL Instructor supervisor at the company that I work. It will be a pay cut but right now my pay is as high as I can get and my new position will afford many more opportunity's. Plus moving from a truck driver position to the office puts me at home sleeping in my own bed every night. It is also pretty regular hours. For the most part 8 hr. days. After 29 years behind the wheel and 15 years being married to a wonderfully understanding woman it will be nice to be home and able to participate in all that entails.

Congratulations! Never underestimate the value of sleeping in your own bed.
Enjoy your time at home, you've earned it.

Congratulations! I am willing to wager that the value of being home every night will outweigh the pay cut in the grand scheme of things.

Then again, when my cousin was about to retire after a 30 year career in the fire service (where the shifts were 24 on/48 off), his wife had become noticeably sullen as the day approached. Picking up on this, he asked, "Honey, what's wrong?" Her answer? "I don't know what I'm going to do with you around all the time. I kind of liked having that time to myself." Thinking quickly, he replied, "Oh Honey. Don't worry. I'm going fishing on those days." The moral of the story, just be prepared for some "adjustments".

Good job Brother! I am glad you have found a balance in your professional and personal life. Time with the family and your personal interest are worth a few dollars along the way.

God bless and keep up the good work.

Thank You Brothers. The adjustments will be many but the rewards will be great. I will probably pick some of you office dwellers brains from time to time for advice on how to deal with situations that arise seeing as this will be my first foray into the office. I don't foresee to much adjustment there if I just keep everything professional and morals high. My current boss told me yesterday while congratulating me that I will be considered a supervisor and need to prepare myself for that. that will be the biggest adjustment I think. Being a truck driver I have always given as well as I get. Now I will have to be more win friends and influence people with my attitude. Thank You again Hopefully now I will be able to travel to different lodges more.
