what do you tell your kids?

Being a new initiate and going out all dressed up is a new thing for my 4 year old and he begs to come with me. I love it that he wants to be involved in what Daddy is doing and I'll enjoy that now because i know that it wont last forever.
My Lodge meets monthly for stated meetings and social occasions and he went to his first social day a few weeks ago and loved it. I love the fact that we have lots of family inclusive events and that kids of all ages are welcome and encouraged to come. He got his first look in the Lodge room and asked "Daddy, do you have your meetings here". Hes only 4 and oblivious to Freemasonry, but I hope and pray that he will see the Mason in me grow and flourish to the point where he asks "Daddy, what make you, you?" He wants to be just like his Dad, as most 4 years do, but I hope that when hes older, he will still ask that question

As with all things concerning my kids, I'm up front about it. What's to hide? Sure, there are secrets inherent to Masonry, but the fact I'm a member isn't one of them.

My 4 year old grandson has been to all my installations , he asks me "Pop are you going to sit in your BIG chairs" he also wants to know when he can go with me. I cant wait!

There used to be a Masonic organization for young boys, called the "Boy builders". And I read somewhere about another organization called the "Triangles", for children of Masons.
If your sons/daughters are interested in Masonry, you need to steer them to the DeMolay/Rainbow/Job's Daughters, when they reach the age of 13.

There may be another youth fraternity that includes girls, but I have never seen a KOP with them.

My kids have been involved with my Wife and I in Masonry since we have been active.
They come with us, and they are well cared for and loved by the Lodge family! Soon both will be active in Rainbow Girls.
