greetings brethren,
just wondering - does anyone have any idea how many members ' my freemasonry ' has?
there was a time - not so long ago - when masonic contact between members was only 'supposed' to occur between grand secretaries - the arrival of the internet and great websites such as this has changed all that - because i am to make a masonic presentation to some of our newer members at an april meeting the total members of this w.w.w. site would be useful information...
i do not need an exact number...

regards to all...

Near the top of the page one the left is the "Forum Home" link. Click it and scroll all the way to the bottom for current membership status. It includes the number of accounts.

The rules on contact use specific technical terms. "Masonic discourse" or "Masonic intercourse" refer to being present in a tiled event together. No on-line contact has ever counted as that.

In those regions in the world where it is safe to be open about one's Masonic membership there has never been an issue with "Masonic contact". There is zero difference between our discussions near on this forum and what happens when two brothers encounter each other in public and decide to discuss those topics which are not secret. Or to discuss the type of secret that can be shouted from the rooftops and still remain secret - We treat each other as kin.

This forum, as do most others, get a steady stream of brothers who are not aware of the boundaries of what is and isn't secret who complain about what is posted. The exact list of what is secret varies jurisdiction to jurisdiction so this forum is as restrictive as it gets without violating the secrecy rules of any jurisdiction.

To me this suggests material for your presentation - What is and isn't secret. What can and can't be presented in public. The fact that no on-line group is ever considered public, just like any event where non-Masons are allowed. The breadth of discussion permitted in such public spaces.
