I've enjoyed this entertaining and enlightening discussion (I've now looked at and will likely petition for membership in Internet Lodge No. 9659).
To the OP, I honestly hope we never reach the point where we conduct all Lodge business online. There is something to be said for us being able to meet, discuss, and debate what we think is right face to face. It also gives us the opportunity to maintain peace and harmony despite the fact that we often have different ideas about the future of our Fraternity. The face-to-face meeting means we have to actually swallow any hurt pride or hot tempers to work together as Brothers, a lesson that is hugely (and increasingly) important in dealings with other people. On the internet, I think something is lost if all we have to do is close the browser and not participate further if we don't like the way a vote goes or a discussion develops.
I know that, regardless of how business is conducted, though, we will always have the opportunity for real personal interaction in fellowship and that is, in my mind, the most valuable thing that Masonry provides to its members.
