Does in my book, but as a Corpsman, I spent a bit of time with Uncle Sams' Misguided Children too!

I was treated outstandingly when my ship visited the Land Down Under for her Bicentennial Party! Never could get used to being called a "Yank" since I was from Texas!

Sounds awesome, you are making me jealous! If you can tour the Medical spaces, you should find my name all over it, especially the Pharmacy! Have fun,

I will certainly look for it. Also my Grandfather. Nicholas j. Antinone worked on that ship refinishing the wood decks. He has a piece of the tiekwood as a commemorative suovineer

I was in the Navy 1989-93. ET3 onboard USS Joseph Hewes (FF-1078) and USS South Carolina (CGN-37).
I wasn't a Mason when I was in because I didn't want to join a lodge where I was stationed. I only ever intended to join one lodge, and that was the one my father belongs to. The day I got home from the Navy, I got my petition.

I was until 2008. FC2(SW) (I was an AEGIS guy) on the USS Philippine Sea (CG-58). I wasn't a part of the Fraternity during my time in. Really wish I would have been though.

25 years ago today, I was a scrawny kid reporting for bootcamp at Orlando. I remember sitting in the airport USO watching ALF on television when they came to get us and riding onto base and the van driver pointing to the big water tower and saying "That's the doorknob to hell."

Anybody else at RTC Orlando in the summer of '89?

Glakes '78 Company 185.

24 years later when my younger daughter graduated boot camp we went to the ceremony and it was like stepping into a time warp. Identical. Weird feeling knowing that I HAD been there before so it was no deja vu.
