Costa Rica

Brothers, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with freemasonry in Costa Rica. Are members of our fraternity looked down on in Costa Rica, or is it known to be more welcoming? I'm traveling there this week.

Costa Rica was formerly called "British Honduras". I can imagine there are a lot of Freemasons there.

Central America & West Indies tab.

There's a recognized GL there but they aren't on the web.

No idea about the cultural issues, sorry. Masonry is popular in other Latin America countries so my first guess would be to expect a positive experience.

Thank you brothers. I'm now in Atlanta waiting for my connecting flight home. Costa Rica was beautiful, I asked 3 taxi drivers about freemasonry in CR, the first 2 didn't know what it was and I didn't want to go deep into it, the 3rd man said ya they like freemasons but I can't guarantee he knew what I was saying lol. I've looked at so many vehicles and unfortunately saw 0 emblems on back of any vehicle

Personal advertising is generally an American phenomena. Just because their cars aren't billboards, doesn't mean they aren't there.

Haha oh yes brother I know that just because they don't advertise on the back of their vehicles, doesn't mean they aren't there. I know they're there, I've seen their different lodges online, I guess I was just hoping to meet another brother of a different culture IN their own culture
