Duties of the Worthy Patron?

Essentially the Worthy Patron is the ritualist, jurist, and head adviser of the chapter. The Worthy Patron presides during the ceremony of initiation, proficiency examinations, or when invited by the Worthy Matron. Keeps a copy of the Secret Work. Advises the Worthy Matron.

When I was Patron I also led the flag ceremonies, ensured all the Star points had their parts down for initiation, and anything else requested by the Worthy Matron.

Great insight KSigMason. I am assuming this position next Saturday by being initiated into a new chapter, and might just be asking advise so I can be good at what I have to do. I am attending a workshop right after the cerimony, and can't wait to be taught

What are the duties of the worthy patron in OES ?
The Worthy Patron is (1.) To be in charge of the lodge, and (2.) to be present at the conferring of the degrees. Those are two duties of the Worthy Patron, (WP/ MWGP) in the Order Of The Eastern Star. I hope you find this helpful.

Since it is an eight year old post and since there are errors, it likely is not helpful.

The Worthy Patron assists in the chapter, not the lodge.
