Texas aprons

I've noticed on Macoys that Texas has a large apron (everything is bigger in Texas, right) requirement; do members continue to wear their personal aprons in Texas or do they use common shares ones? Just curious

Both. Most Brothers wear their personal aprons for special events. Things like funerals, rededications of their vows, raising of family members and close friends, et al. Each lodge has an apron cabinet that Brethren use to cloth themselves for lodge meetings.

Past Masters sometimes wear their own apron but often use past master aprons from the lodge cache.

The dimensions of our apron have meaning, they're not just bigger for the sake of it.

As jwhoff stated, brothers usually wear the lodge-provided aprons -- though we *can* wear our own if we so choose.

Here's a serious note to new Texas Secretaries.

There are those of us who do not have legitimate Texas size personal aprons. Occasionally a new secretary will not look close enough. Consequently, purchasing the wrong apron size. It has happened, it will happen again.

Just make sure you check.

I wear my PM apron from a previous state at most meetings. The size difference is not always noticed. At some point I'll go through the line again and increase the size of my PM apron collection.

I'd imagine it's perfectly legal by GLoT to wear your PM apron from a previous jurisdiction, especially if you maintain dual membership. The size difference would be moot.
