I will be a fellow brother (hopefully) in NY once I can petition.

Very nice, if you dont mind me asking...is there something holding you back from petitioning now? Or are you trying to seek duel membership from and another state?

Age.

I'm 20, and can't petition until I'm 21. Additionally, I am about to graduate, and I may not be in New York for law school (although I hope to stay).

Last year in NJ, we changed the petition age to 18. Im not sure if N.Y. Grand lodge has done the same. You should definitely look into that.

The GM has had the issue studied by a special commission and mentioned the age requirement again at this years' St. John's Day Address. If the GL changes the req., it will be past time for me to make a difference. Oh well.

Im very sorry to hear that. I wish there was something i can do, but I hope everything goes well for you in your future masonic journey.
