Brethren,

I was recently raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on April 9th, 2016. A very proud moment and looking forward to continuing the never ending journey towards that perfect ashlar! Also looking forward to continuing my knowledge of the craft and proudly representing my lodge whenever possible.

If any of the brothers have any advice for a newly raised MM, I would definitely appreciate it!

If it suits you, take an office the first change you get, even if it is a bit daunting.... and start learning some charges under the director of our mentor or director of ceremonies or Marshall or who ever organizes your degrees..

Welcome again, and again, to the family thrice adopted Brother.

Get active. Stay active. Whether you go through the line of chairs or not, pick an event on the annual calendar and get involved in that event. Be one of the team at that event every year.

Take your time about joining any appendent body. There are no longer any rules against joining right away, but there used to be a waiting period of 1-2 years so you could get used to be involved in your own lodge. I suggest you follow those old rules and wait 1-2 years even though those rules don't exist any more. Appendent bodies are interesting but there's an art to balance using blue lodge as a base on which to build and using blue lodge as a step to the next body.
