My name is Jessie and this is my first time posting on here - I want to say hello.

I am not a Freemason, nor am I a man (a transgender woman I am), so though I'll never petition a lodge to join, I am invested in the Work generally and I have lot of appreciation for and have drawn a lot of inspiration from publicly available literature on Masonry (and some old exposes honestly, sorry), and have applied a lot of it to my own project of self-improvement. I'd like to strike up some friendships possibly on shared values; of which, being committed to personal development and self-improvement are the primary ones. It's the commitment to self-improvement that I have found important in my own life so far, and I'd like some kind of fellowship in this endeavor, if possible (though it won't ever be Masonic). I'd like to have company with others who value this in every aspect of their lives as a general program, whatever it might be, and I've found Masons (with the cryptic symbolism dis-included in my discussion with you all) to be particularly interested and dedicated to this effort with a depth and breadth that is honestly unparalleled in other societies I've encountered so far (they might still be out there though, who knows). I haven't yet met anybody with the perspective, scope, seriousness and dedication to that work that I presume the average Mason might have, from the couple that I have had the pleasure to meet in the community I've lived in, and in the Masonic literature and biographies I have read. It's a really a nice and encouraging thing to be around I think.

Perhaps we can share and exchange general and specific things that are fit for you each to speak publicly about, while we are each on our own individual journeys.

Thank-you all for having me. I'd like to also change my username again at some point, because it is quite ridiculous, I know.

- Jessie

Edit: I should say that I actually registered on here a year ago after finding some answers to a couple Masonic questions. I had wanted a place for exchange and discussion eventually and decided to register, but I had gotten busy with things and I sort of forgot about my account. Finding what I've said I am looking for had become important enough for me just recently to post and engage on here for my first time.

Thank-you for the welcome everyone.

There are some feminine and co-Ed obedience’s in which your sexual identification would not be an issue

I've looked into some co-ed obedience and the one in my area seems to be more explicitly philosophically speculative than I'd like, from what I gather. I'd prefer something that is more closer to the Anglo approach, as I've heard it been described as more social and fraternal, and less speculative. I think that this obedience I've mentioned does even mix politics with their Lodge, and this is something I'd also like to actively avoid. From my research, there doesn't seem to be a co-ed obedience around me that has all the particulars that I would prefer (basically UGLE but including women). I see that the female obedience in Britain is opening a lodge here in the US (D.C), so maybe if they find success and decide to expand I might inquire in the future when things are better for myself, if I still have an interest and if they'd have somebody like me in it.

In all fairness, I don't think that I am fit to be involved with the duties of any kind of obedience as I have some personal issues I am overcoming and wouldn't be able to effectively commit to any other obligations while I continue to work through these issues. I do find that having some company of like-minded people might be generally a good thing for both parties I hope, as I've mentioned. On my end, I at least feel like people with a similar approach to tackling challenges in life is good, even if it is on the internet.

Thank-you for your consideration.
