Learning more about my Grandfather.

I’ve come into possession of some heirlooms from my grandfather. He was a Mason, last belonging to the Grand Masonic Loge in Attleboro Mass. To my bother was left his ring and to me was left several items in a brief case connected to his membership with the Masons. In disclosure, I am not a mason myself, and I do intend to read what I can of what he has left me two generations on. Although some are illegible to my eyes seeing as they are written in some kind of code, which I will respect, and not attempt to decode, given that I am not a member myself. But I would like to know more, as much as I can, about these items that were important enough to him to him to preserve above all other items he may have possessed in connection with his membership that I may know more about the man who influenced who I am today.
I will include pictures if I am able to attach them for reference. But in this post I will describe them.

1. a scrolled sheep skin that says “Presented by Stissing [] No. 615, F. & A. M Pine Plains N.Y.
To Brother: Lawrence A. Rowell
Initiated: 2-24-1953
Passed: 3-24-1953
Raised: May 12 1953
Edward J. Roche Sec’Y
E. Matthew Netter W.M

the sheep skin is otherwise blank.

2. 2 small booklets titled NY 1 and NY 2 and inside titled King Solomon and his Followers NY 1 and NY 2 respectively that are both completely illegible to me.

3. A binder titled Valuable Paper File containing several folios all of which are empty currently.

4. An official due book containing dozens of stamps.

5. A photo that is, what I can only assume, is an infant picture of him.

6. a booklet or Bylaws and Roster Stissing Lodge No. 615 F & A. M. written in plain English that I intend to read but haven’t yet.

7. A botton bound book titled King Solomon and his Followers NY a valuable aid to the memory. Strictly in accordance with the revised work 1923.

8. Book of Constitutions of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. Also in plain English but not yet read by me.

9. A book titled Monitor of the Ancient Craft Masonry in the jurisdiction of the Grand a Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York 1949.

Any info that is shareable on these items and what they might have meant to him and how they may have shaped him is greatly appreciated.

many thanks,

Craig
