You need to talk to the Secretary of your Mother Lodge UNLESS it is your intention to start the process from scratch in which case you Petition a Lodge where you now are.

Just to add, you're right your Granddad's membership is irrelevant to yours.

I'll add to what Mike said. A Master Mason can easily move to different Lodges or Jurisdictions. An Entered Apprentice is still tied to the Lodge where they began their journey. There are options to continue your progress, but they all begin with first contacting your home Lodge in OKC and explaining that you now live in WV and want to continue your progress. They will let you know what your options are and what the next steps are. Remember, any issues or questions you have, the appropriate action is always to contact your own Lodge Secretary first. It is usually considered very inappropriate to contact a Lodge in a different Jurisdiction without first contacting your own. Some jurisdictions are more lax on this than others. Especially for Brothers who live on borders and frequently visit the neighboring one.

Thank you for the replies. the secretary at my previous lodge sent whatever paperwork was necessary to one of the lodges here in Martinsburg. Being only an entered apprentice makes sense as why this may be so hard. I suppose I may have to petition and start over. again, thank you for the replies.
