A Guide for the North Carolina Royal Arch and Select Master Mason

Hi all,

I posted the following in the York Rite forum, but had a change of heart and decided to just go ahead and share this to get discussion going. I also felt like the Education forum was a better fit. Also, there are no real secrets contained in it, so I don't think there's anything wrong with it. But still, I suggest only reading it if you've been through the Capitular and Cryptic degrees, as the descriptions would ruin the impact.

Here in North Carolina, every candidate that goes through the EA, FC and MM degrees is given a little (~20-page) book after each degree that explains what they just went through along with some of the symbolism. I really loved that, and I really missed it after going through 9 degrees over 9+ hours, and then not being able to see them again for at least another 6-8 months!

So, I've written a short (53-page) book, which I've called "A Guide for the North Carolina Royal Arch and Select Master Mason". It's my hope that it'll serve the same purpose for the new York Rite Mason, to help answer the questions "what exactly just happened?" and "what the heck did all that mean?"

It's aimed mostly at North Carolina York Rite Masons, and some of the history focuses on the Greensboro area where my York Rite Bodies are, but I think anyone would enjoy it.

Thanks, and let me know what you think :)
