I seem to remember reading somewhere that he stated he was not a Mason, he was just using the logo because he likes the way he looks, or something like that. But I can't find the article now, so I'm wondering if I dreamed it.
Respectfully, that's not fair, and doesn't include every situation.
Suppose I miss one meeting. Just one. And that's where a petition is read, and an investigation committee formed. I come to the business meeting the next month, being busy with life and somewhat out of the loop, and find out...
Separated the post from the other thread, as it was not relevant to the other discussion, and made it into it's own thread so you'll hopefully get more responses. I can't answer you question, unfortunately, but I'm sure you'll get a reply.
And word could still get back to the potential candidate. Probably less likely, but easily possible.
There is a provision where, before the initiation itself three brothers can go to the WM and protest the ballot. From the law book:
Article 423 When and By Whom
Any member of a Lodge in this...
I don't know, but I imagine it was made illegal so the group doesn't trash someone in open lodge, and then word gets back to said person, possibly after they are initiated, and you end up with disharmony in the lodge.
That said, if the discussion leaves a professional, fact oriented direction...
While I voted for the investigation process, I almost voted censorship for this reason right here. Balloting is perhaps the most important vote the lodge ever takes, and its the one vote we can't discuss. It makes little sense.
That's fascinating. I think one of my life long goals is to visit a mixed faith lodge in Israel.
Thanks for the information, Huw, good to get another perspective on things!
Personally, I'm getting tired of remakes. I agree with the 'no original content' sentiment. And there are some movies that I don't really feel need to be remade. The original Conan with Arnold is classic. That doesn't mean I won't like this one, but the original is simply classic.
But yeah...
Wow, owls. That's just about the best chart I've ever seen. It clears up so much. Already saved to flash, printed out, and will go in my copy of the law book for quick reference.
Thanks for bringing that article up, owls. This a question I had wondered the answer to myself, but wasn't sure about. Haven't encountered this particular issue yet, but I had certainly wondered, for curiosities sake. Didn't know what would have to the 'which I assure you is the Holy Bible' if...
I think the above would be a good solution. It probably was meant to be that way, but simply dropped the 'as' on accident. And that wouldn't be the only typo I found.
(I can be kind of a grammar nazi, at least in publications that ought to be professional.) :P
Howso? Good information is to the petitioners credit, bad information is certainly not to his credit. It is the investigator's job to find out both the good and the bad, and if he finds out those things, then he's doing his job. He should be looking for skeleton's. He ought to be guarding the...
Yeah, I'm hesitant. I really like the first two Toby McGuire films. Yeah, three was a stinker, but the first two were really good. To me, this is in the category of "doesn't need a relaunch." But who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I heard about that tragedy, but I think it's all the more sad knowing the prime suspect (suspect seems kind of like a formality in this case) is a Mason.
And I don't think it's a coincidence at all that they chose that picture to place at the top of the article. One brother's actions can be a...
