I have done American Civil War reenacting for about 35 years. My most recent group was the 9th NYVC. I really enjoyed the battles and all that went along with them. I spent some time as an NCO and 7 years as Captian but I decoided that it was time to let someone else handle all the problems...
Here is an explanation of the Fellowcraft wages I received from a fellow Mason that uses the tokens I make in his lodge. I liked it so much I now give a copy to everyone I provide one of my tokens to.
Corn, Wine, and Oil
They obviously represent the wages that were paid to the workers at the...
I also do some Masonic wood working. I make these little Fellowcraft Temples with Corn, Wine and Oil in them for presentation to our new Brothers that have been passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. I have also sold them to several lodges locally and around the country.
I have a smaller version of this that I make and sell to some of our local lodges. They use them to give to the new Fellowcrafts after the Middle Chamber Lecture in the 2nd Degree. This way after being told that as a Fellowcraft they are entitled to there wages they actually do get paid, at...
The Grand Lodge of New York use to issue "Traveling Papers". It had all your masonic information on it in several languages. It was a very large piece of paper that I think looked like parchment. If I can find it and scan it into my computer I will post a copy.
Which bring to mind the question, How many Masons does it take to change a light bulb?..... the answer is 17, one to change the bulb and 16 to do the ritual.
I thought that this was a good joke so I went to tell it to a couple of older brothers in my Lodge. When I asked them How many Masons it...
Many years ago I went to GA and attended a Lodge there that was doing a 1st Degree. My father and I arrived at the Lodge building in our coat and tie But were unsure if we were in the right place. I asked one of the men standing around if they were having a 1st Degree tonight and he said yes...
I am the utility brother in my Lodge and am often called on to fill in for an officer for the opening and closing ritual. Now after 35+ years in the Fraternity I have just started learning the Chaplain's parts. I never realized how many prayers and scripture lessons the Chaplain needed to...
Presenting the new Fellowcrafts with C,W,&O tokens is not official ritual in NY but lots of lodges do it. Because it is frowned upon to modify the ritual the tokens are not presented until after the Master says "This concludes the 2nd degree of Masonry". At this point the prerogatives of the...

That was a great article. With your permission I am going to make copies of it and give a copy it to the new Fellowcrafts after the 2nd degree at Lodge.
I made up some Ritual for presenting them in Lodge. Here is a copy of the wording we use.
Corn, Wine and Oil presentation for 2nd Degree (Fellowcraft Middle Chamber ending) This is suggested wording for the presentation.
W.M. My Brother(s) this concludes the second degree of Masonry, however...
I was wondering if any other lodges present the new Fallowcrafts with Corn, Wine and Oil during or after the 2nd Degree. We always present our new Fellowcrafts with the CW&O at the end of the degree. I make them for my Lodge and for several other Lodges in my district. Here is a picture of one.
Many years ago I want to a Civil War reenactment in Gettysburg and got an opportunity to attend a lodge meeting there. They did a 2nd Degree and had 2 candidates. It was a long night. Here in NY we can put up to 5 candidates threw at the same time and if we can get dispensation we can do...
