I truly hope that GLofTX votes to allow full visitation. Unfortunately I can see the same tired excuses being trotted out as to why we should not recognize our Prince Hall brethren. I think the vote by The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas to allow cross visitation is a wonderful...
I belong to a daylight lodge, Omar Bradley Lodge #1028 in El Paso, TX. Although my current work schedule makes it difficult to attend, I enjoy belonging to a daylight lodge.
There are no lodges actually on post. There are three lodges that meet within shouting distance of the back gate of main post, you could easily walk from the gate to the lodge building if you were allowed off post.
I don's have any tattoos yet. When I decide what I want (a masonic tattoo) I am going to fly out to L.A. and have my tattoo done by Roni Zulu. Roni is a world class tattoo artist, brother, and past master of North Hollywood Lodge 542 (where Bro. Audie Murphy was initiated, passed, and raised)...
Just my thoughts,
Mutual recognition, as it stands now is a sham. I would venture to sat that the majority of the Mainstream brethren (at least in my area) have no idea the compact was signed or what it means. When I bring up the subject of inter-visitation or recognition I still hear...

Recognition and...
Blake,
Unfortunately, I take it that you mean the effort towards recognition and visitation between GLOTX and our Prince Hall brothers, and not just this thread.
My lodge has a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wallace-Hughston-Masonic-Lodge-1393/207184388271
I think that our Facebook page is exactly what it should be. :001_smile:
I have not been on the forums much lately due to my busy work and school schedule so I missed the author's reply to this post.
Thanks for replying and adding to the discussion brother Klause.
I still think that this speech is right on the money and exactly what many brothers need to...
I am all for mentoring new brethren and assisting them in learning about the craft, their lodge, and how to act as a mason. I learned all of these things from my coach. In the lodges here in El Paso you are paired up with a coach who teaches you the catechism (degree work) one-on-one. This coach...
