It's a shame that the movie was so awful. Even the guys who made it acknowledged all the really took from the brilliant comic book was the title. If you are a fan of great comics/graphic novels, do yourself a favor and read this one. Alan Moore's notes in the back of each issue are incredible, and if you read along with each page it really enriches the experience. My curiousity about Freemasonry can be traced back to the original release of this book.

I'll admit that the movie wasn't prime cut, but I did enjoy it. Lol especially after I got into Masonry.
Sidebar note, did anyone notice how some of the clothing and symbols used for the bad guys in that first Sherlock Holmes movie KIND OF resembled or had the feel of Masonic stuff from that time period just like in From Hell?
