I was asked why the Grand Lecturer position was abolished in Texas? I had no idea we even had that position but sure enough it references them from the 1800's in the opening credits of the monitor. Does anyone have the skinny on this?

They had one Grand Lecturer who was such a pain that everyone preferred to abolish the position so they wouldn't have to remember him.

Actually, I bet that the position was replaced with the Committee on Work.

So the grand lecturer was the sole horse mouth on the ritual like the C.O.W. is now? Makes since it would have to grow into a committee if it was just one person.
