Not every jurisdiction has the same workings and we don't even know what Grand Lodge you are in. This is something you should really be getting from your Lodge or District leadership.

I think he is a UGLE mason. But for the modes of recognition , the work is committed to writing, and has been for hundreds of years.

But yes, I think we are all agreed he should be speaking to his lodge.

Our of interest, how long have you been in the Craft ?

It depends in which jurisdiction you are, but in many places the ritual and diagrams of the floor work are "not proper to be written" ... (remember what you promised in your EA obligation). In these cases, the work is taught "mouth to ear" for memorization.
Most lodges will have a designated instructor or a "director of work" who can instruct and teach the members in the adopted work. Check with your master or lodge secretary. and they can get you hooked up with the right brother for instruction.
