I have decided to get active in the SR again and I have been interested in the Knights of Saint Andrew for a while. I was browsing the different regalia and such on https://knightsofstandrew.org/ and I am curious about one of the things there for members.
This item is listed in their shop:

Blazer or Pocket Badge - Authentic Design - Golden
"For those events (formal or semi-formal) when a jacket, blazer or tuxedo is the attire this gold-plated badge is the perfect accompaniment. The design is unique and historic."
Except it isn't unique. It is the cap badge for the Kings Own Scottish Borderers. https://www.kosb.co.uk/ A unit of the British military until 2006 when they were combined with several other highland units into the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Does anyone know the connection between this badge and the Scottish Rite Knights of Saint Andrew or why it was selected as a pocket badge?
