In the 2nd Quarter 2016 Issue of the Phylaxis Magazine (Premier Research publication for Prince Hall Research), I wrote an article detailing the questions regarding the history of the founding of African Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania (Dec. 28, 1815), by use of primary documentation, namely the records of African Lodge No. 459 of Philadelphia.
The accepted narrative was that 4 Lodges, all warranted by African Lodge of Boston, formed the Grand Lodge in Philadelphia, but the records provide details of the formation, and reveal a very different story.
The article was endorsed as a Masterpiece for Phylaxis.
