My uncle Lost faith in freemasonry

I have two uncles, both mm, one pm. The one quit paying his dues, and the other says hes going to stop as well. My uncle Bob says it's a waste of $50 a year. They get so many great things out of the craft. It breaks my heart to watch them loose faith. Please pray for them, as I try to remind them of how exciting it is to gain more light.

I will pray for them. What exactly are they dissatisfied with? $50/year is not a lot of money

I don't think it's the money, it's probably just the fact that their lodge merged so many times and he feels disconnected. I'm hoping he comes with me now that I'm raised.

There is a certain sadness in losing your home lodge, but they should look at it as an opportunity to get to know new Masons.
We need to keep our older Masons as well as "replenishing" the craft.

How about having a family night where the lodge cooks a main dish and everyone brings a dish like a pot luck?

Or a past masters night, ice cream social and wearing your lamb skin apron night.

These are some of the things we do at our lodge.

Excellent idea! I'll bring it up to my lodge. There's another local lodge that does a family night. Awesome idea brother!

I also see things as "do you love masonry or do you love your lodge?". Most would probably say its a mix of both, but mostly the craft itself. Lodges come and go, by Masonry's ancient secrets are eternal. I'd find a new place where I felt right or seek to improve the old place.
