Not to interject but Brother Bill is right. You need to go to your "home" lodge itself directly, and then the local Brethren from that point. Brethren who actually know you are the ones that will be the most supportive of you in your time of need.

You are going to have a difficult time obtaining assistance via the internet from Brethren who do not know you.

Hello Bro. Berry! It's been several months since I visited your lodge.

The other brethren here are correct and I would advise speaking to members of your lodge about this first as well. I understand your lodge has financial troubles but your brethren should be willing/able to assist you if they can.

Brother,

Not to get into your business, but if you were injured at work can't you file a Workman's Comp claim? You should possibly seek counsel with a Workman's Comp attorney, there is usually no charge to you in these matters unless they pay the claim.

Regarding your SSI claim it is S.O.P. for the government to deny your claim initially, according to people I know who have been through the process.

There are attorneys who handle these cases on a contingency basis as well.

I wish you well , and will be keeping you in our prayers.

Yours, in His service.

You have two years to file a claim (depending on your state law). Once the claim is properly filed, that stops the statute of limitations from tolling. They may slow-play their defense to see if you go away, but they can't simply delay for two years to stop your claim. You should talk to a Workman's Comp attorney, as previously suggested, to see what your options are. They usually work on a contingency basis, which limits your up-front expenses.
