Man, I'm so sorry to hear that brother. Of course it was due to the carelessness of some workers. :(

It appears to have been a gorgeous lodge building. However, the history, the stories, and the love shared between brethren are in our hearts, not our buildings. I hope that a new, more glorious edifice is raised for your lodge and that the spirit of the men who make up the lodge raise it to new heights among men and masons.

I'm from Quincy but joined a lodge in Brockton. I used to pass that building everyday as a kid and always marvelled at it. I never got to go inside. My prayers as well as those of my lodge brothers are with you and the rest of your lodge.

It was indeed a beautiful building outside and inside. The nice thing if any, is that she is listed on the national register, so if the shell is sound they can rebuild from the exterior inward. I had the honor of visiting the building many years ago and what a Temple. I was there in July and August this year to see what may be discarded during the remodeling that was going on. A real lost to Massachusetts Freemasonry and a huge tragedy for Rural Lodge of Quincy.

It's just awful and it's huge tragedy!
It is always very sad when such historical objects are destroyed.
