We in Pa. have a friendly rivalry with Mass. as to who has the oldest Lodge. The ledger of St. John's Lodge, known as Liber B, begins with the date June 24, 1731 and ends June 24, 1738. They met in the Sun Tavern on Water Street. Later they met in the Tunn Tavern, where the U.S. Marine Corps also got its start from.
Lodge No. 2, warranted June 7, 1758, was the first Lodge warranted by the Antient Grand Lodge of England. It was originally Lodge No.4, warranted June 24 1757, by the Moderns.

Looking at this, we might be in the running for oldest west of the Appalachians. We are the oldest in Tennessee, charted in 1801.
