This one caught me off guard. Haven't heard anything about it till now...25 Million dollar gift to the U of Minnesota. Previous gift was 65 Million or some huge number for the Masonic Cancer Center, which was one of the first of it's kind back in the 50's.

To date over 125 Million has been gifted to the U of MN by Minnesota Masons.

I have't formed an opinion one way or another as to whether this is good, bad or indifferent. It if helps sick kids and can find a cure for cancer then I'm okay with it.

Sounds great that we try to help people in this manner especially since the Fraternity is so evil, considering we are devil worshiper, ploting to take over the world, etc., etc., etc.

Not sure how it could be a "bad" thing...
I was tired when I wrote it up...I don't think it's a bad thing either. I was just surprised. The last large gift to the Masonic Cancer Center had more communication around it and more people know of it happening. This came out of no where. Most brothers I have talked with are excited and proud, as am I.

I think perhaps in this day where corporations swoop in and have entire sports arenas named after them, we get a bit cynical about occurrences like this. I hope it was just a gesture of thanks in the renaming rather than part of the agreement itself. Either way, it makes me proud.

This....exactly. The Masonic Cancer Center was built back in the 50's as a hospice type facility. Over the years it has evolved into the world class research facility that it is.
The previous donor allowed the naming rights to expire early to clear the way for this naming. I am sure going forward it will be a beacon for further good deeds and additional fundraising by Minnesota brothers.
