Do any Brethren have an office at work or at home? A "study" or a "man cave"? Any Masonic items in there?

My office at home has a masonic clock in it. I have my editions of NJ Freemason magazines piled somewhere.

Other than that, I keep my membership low key so I usually put it away when I have a larger gathering. silly, right?

My wife made a shadow box with my first gravel, the trowel I was presented the night I was raised, some life/endowed membership cards and such. I also have a small collection of Table Lodge commemorative engraved glasses.

Most of my Masonic books are in the presentation case in the living room not among the functional books on the case in my home office.

I don't have an office, or even carved out 'man cave'. More often than not, I'll got to the Lodge & do my Masonic work there.

I'm a J:.W:. In 2 different lodges, in 2 different districts. It has been a boon & bane, to be honest.

Both lodges are different, different emphasis' differences in minor things.

Initially I thought it would broaden me, & make me a more developed Mason for the Fraternity at large. I don't know if I'd choose to do this again if given the chance.

I did have a chance to confer the EA degree several weeks ago on 3 candidates. I thought when it was all over, the A:.G:.L:. Was going to give me a list of 'what to improve on' - 'what I'd said out of order(?)', but he told me I knocked it out good. He said my voice inflection, & genuineness connected with the candidates. So I was relieved, because in the end, it's really about their experience.

I may choose not to advance in either lodge. I'll have to wait & see what the will of the Craft is. I've always taken my progression slower than most. I don't have any political / Officer aspirations . I'm mentoring 2 (possibly 3 now) newly MM, & a candidate in the Chute. I think a better investment of my time will be spent getting to know these men, their families better, & mentoring them, answering their questions, et al, than rushing right into the S:.W:. Chair.

Just my $0.02c

I don't have a home office exactly but I do have several masonic books, a few bobbles and a few swords just in case I need to tyler my own home ;) (swords are actually not masonic at all, but rather for Historical European Martial Arts)

I work from home and there is stuff all over the place. On my (very full!) desk I have masonic guides, two bookings diaries for two masonic centres, oh, there is a small gavel buried in my inbox LOL...

In the lounge I have the last three shipments delivered from the family of deceased brethren, it has cases aprons, medals,by laws, certificates, etcetc. I have some more gavels, ritual books, books of workings, medals, mine and others, in my draws and on book shelves; masonic books. I have a bag which contains a supply of gifts I purchased from GL to give visiting brethren which has masonic ties, ritual books and S&Qs and other pins. There is a few shrine items in it.. I pick some out and put them in my lodge case to restock - last visitor to lodge did not get anything because I had not restocked.. I have a bunch of old masonic building reports beside my feet (a project I need to go through).

My place is a treasure trove ! I need to sort some of it and get it into our collection at lodge, some will go to GL, others I will donate to the Masonic Homes that sell second hand regalia... I have some PM medals I want to return to their lodge of origin... all work for the Christmas down time...
