Greetings all,

I received my Entered Apprentice Degree last night. I am proud to be able to be typing this and I am looking forward to the rest of the journey.

Being that I am fairly new to the site, and fraternity as well, I wanted to know if there were any threads dedicated to EAs as far as study tips, meeting others of that degree, general fellowship, etc.

Your lodge brothers could probably better help you with the study tips. Some jurisdictions are mouth to ear and some not. Regardless, the more time you can set aside; the better you are likely to do. If you are good at memorizing, you will likely learn faster than others. It takes time and patience.

Welcome to the family once adopted brother. You definitely waited a time with patience!

When studying be sure to say the words aloud. It makes a big difference in retaining the material in memorization.

Thanks! I tend to do ok with memorizing things, so I'm going to put my best effort forward to being great at this profession!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I've actually watched you say this in the forums, waiting for the day you could direct it towards me! Yes it has definitely been a wait, but I definitely appreciate the reward for my patience and now I plan to put my best foot forward in making sure that I do all that is required for me to be successful in this profession! Thanks again, brother @dfreybur

Hey brother, how are things going? I'm in a "class" with two other gentlemen and have been meeting weekly to go over the memory work. It's still a lot to grasp word for word but I'm progressing. My 2nd degree will be pushed back at least one week because one of my new brothers will be out the week we were supposed to deliver our proficiency and receive the second degree. I hope this message finds you well!

Hey brother! It's going pretty good. I was the only one initiated so my mentor who happens to be my father in law and also the master of the lodge we have been going over the memory work so that I can show proficiency on time. I agree it is a lot to grasp especially if you haven't had to memorize anything word for word in years. That extra week is sweet in terms of getting sharper! Thanks for checking in
