Im also in aviation, currently a contract pilot in Gabon, West-Africa. Previously lived and flew in Botswana's World Heritage site, The Okavango Delta.

Not me. The two scariest things I have ever heard in my life were "I now pronounce you mad and wife" and "You now have control of the aircraft" :)

Got my SEL ticket back in 1971. Had a good friend & Brother who would let me fly the 172 he had an interest in but, sadly, he had to let it go due to health issues.

I have my private ticket but lost my medical some years ago.
If I'd have had a clue about losing the medical I would have spent every penny and minute of free time in the air when I was younger. Took most of my training in a PA-28 140 and C-172 but put the most hours in a C-177, which was my favorite.
