Geology and computer science. One major the other minor in either order. Heavily fortified with mathematics more than any business department's computer courses can supply. Petroleum geology includes a lot of echo mapping of the inside of the ground and that's highly mathematical and uses vast computing resources.

I suggest you consider coursework in Petroleum Engineering. This is one of the highest-paid undergraduate degrees. (I used to work for ARAMCO Oil in Saudi Arabia).

thanks i was looking into armaco oil. the thing is my grandfather got me a job with Halliburton but i want to pursue higher education to get a better position.

Hmm. My father had a friend (Jim) who worked for Aramco in Saudi Arabia back in the early '80s
