Sounds like you enjoyed it ? Highlights ?
Sure!

At this specific event, I covered the highlights of two specific books, although I mentioned four in total.

Initially I mentioned chapters ten out of Building Ruffish and Building Cement to address the word "Cowan" and how it has been coopted and redefined by the Craft.

The third book was Building Free Men, which addresses some of the words we use as a fraternity that don't mean within it what they originally meant when first used and the impact that Light should have upon our work and us. It also included some of the build up to my discoveries. This research laid the foundation for the next book, The Craft Unmasked! The Uncommon Origin of Freemasonry and Its Practice.

This was the last book focus of the talk which addressed several themes, of which included:

1) What we say we do
2) What we actually do
3) What our lore claims
4) What history claims
5) What we need to be focusing upon as a fraternity to assure what we do doesn't get done in futility and create disgruntled and disappointed members who leave and never return.

There was a tremendous turnout, many Eureka moments for those who attended and many circles of discussion afterward.

Good Times for sure!

You should meet him in person. He can leave you with your head spinning. His mind works differently than most of us and non-stop.

Sounds like great discussion points ! I think one of our core problems is the relationship between point 1 & 2 above and making sure we do what we say we do, esp around self improvement and benevolence. For me, Freemasonry is not a charity but it undertakes charitable activities in the course of discharging our goals of the first degree. The self improvement is there, but its not always immediately accessible, especially a few years in when we're engaged in the grind of running what you would call "Freemasonry" at the expense of "Masonry" (as you define the two words). For me, there should be no distinction between the two (Freemasonry being the organization and Masonry being the improving elements of what we do). We've got to be constantly striving to align our organizational activities with our values and quests. It would have been a good presentation. Ever thought of having someone video such a presentation ? Video taping the "Order in the House" which came out of presentation was a great idea; years on I still send the link on for people to watch and consider.. there is a written version, but a passionate and good speaker is sometimes even better in video format...
