Does you Jurisdiction just confer the OES degree, or do they work the Rite of Adoption:

1. OES
2. Queen of the South
3. Amaranth

Hmm

When I went through OES here in North Carolina I just went though the normal OES ceremony . Amaranth on the mainstream side is a separate body. However , I find the question you pose to be quite a interesting one ! How does it work in prince hall ?

There are some Jurisdictions that work what is called the RITE OF ADOPTION.
This RITE will include the OES, Queen of the South and the Amaranth in progression. The Prince Hall Grand Chapter OES of California is an example of a Jurisdiction that works the RITE.
Some Jurisdictions in PHA work only the OES, Like Washington State.

The Rite of Adoption use to be worked by the Grand Lodges of State (so-called Mainstream).
It was formed by MaCoy..

I was just interested in whether Grand Lodges of State under the General Grand Chapter still worked a RITE, or whether they just worked the OES.
It wasn't always like that, it changed because the Grand Lodges began to look at it as Women's Freemasonry. And rightfully so, the Constellation reeked of Co-Masonry, and the Adoptive Rite began using terms like ADOPTED MASON, to describe the female members of the Rite.

G. W. Brown and John H. Tatem (both from Michigan) were the main promoters of this style of the OES.
G. W. Brown wrote The Adopted Mason and in 1867 wrote A Ladies Friends. John H. Tatem wrote the manual that was for the function of Lodges of the Adopted Mason.

The OES and its ritual has changed dramatically from the days of the Mosaic of Adoptive Masonry.

UGLV does not confer any of the below, but OES and Amaranth are both approved bodies meeting in our buildings. OES ad Amaranth are separate bodies Freemasons in good standing can participate in.
1. OES
2. Queen of the South
3. Amaranth

Queen of the South - I've actually not heard of that group (or ceremony).. tell me more !

Likewise I am not aware of the "rite of adoption" here...

The Queen of the South is a degree and can only be conferred in an OES Chapter.
Macoy is credited with its creation (or at least its presentation to the OES system) in 1873.
The settings are called Palaces, and deals with King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba...

Thank you and I look forward to some of your insight, especially in regards to OES. We don't get a lot of that on this sight. I don't think I've seen much on Queen of the South but I bet it has outstanding ritual. Not sure if they have that around where I live.

Very cool. I need to brush up on the OES. Haven't been in a while. Good degrees if read into and not looked at surface value.
