Order of the Temple

We bestowed the Order of the Temple on three candidates last night and were graded on our performance by the Commander of the 5th Division. At the end he congratulated us on a job well done so I think that we did a fairly good job. This is the first one that I have participated in as an officer.

Outstanding work Warrior. I was Commander of our Commandery this year. We worked extremely hard and placed 4th in the state, we were 11th last year. As I've written previously the Commandery is my favorite part of Masonry. I traveled the state with my friend and mentor, who is a REPGC and visited many Commanderies. It was without of doubt the best year I've had in the craft. I can't wait until next year.

Sounds great. I, too, love the Commandery as well as the Chapter and Council. I really like the Scottish Rite but I love the York Rite.

Congratulations Sir Knight!!!!!.

Ok I'm going to tell you the story of my Order of the Temple. I received mine during an annual inspection. Some of the best ritualists in Tennessee were there and I was totally blown away. It was absolutely amazing. On the way home my adrenaline was still running through my body. I was beaming, extremely proud.

I'm about 15 minutes from the lodge, I get home and walk in the door. My wife asked me "how'd it go honey", I said "you can call me Sir Knight Matthew Now", she said "as long as you remember I'm the Grand Empress of the Universe, now get the trash out to the curb".

It kinda blew the whole thing for me. After all these years when Brothers call the house and she answers, they still call her Grand Empress.

My wife is very supportive of me and the craft, I wish she would petition the OES, but she's not a joiner.
