Dual/Plural Affiliation out of state

Good morning Brethern!

Quick question, wondering if any of you could possibly shed some light on as I await answers back from the respective secretaries.

I am currently a member of a GLoTX Lodge and am wishing to affiliate with a GLoNE Lodge in Lincoln, Nebraska. I know that both the GLs allow me to do so, and I don’t desire to demit from my home Lodge, as it was where I was raised.

My question is this: is it my duty to obtain the letter of good standing from my home secretary prior to requesting the affiliation, or must the Nebraska secretary go through the GLNE-GLTX-home and back again process to request the letter.

Thank you all for your insight.

In theory all correspondence between jurisdictions goes through the Grand Secretary office of both jurisdictions. In practice that introduces unknown delays.

Consider that all correspondence between you and your own lodges are direct between your home address and the Secretary. See if they will take a letter of standing that was issued to you directly. I've done that when affiliating to lodges in addition to my mother lodge.
