End of My Time In The East

Last night my time in the East came to an end. The newly elected officers for St. Matthews / PRP Lodge 906, including the WM, were installed. It was a bittersweet occasion. I really enjoyed my time as Master and did the best job that I could. I take pride in the fact that under my administration the membership of the lodge more than doubled in size due to a consolidation between St. Matthews Lodge 906 and Pleasure Ridge Park Lodge 959. Before the lodge was closed the new WM called me west of the alter and presented me with a Past Master lapel pin, certificate of appreciation and a Past Master apron. This was a total surprise and really moved me. I wish all of the newly installed officers the best of luck and will continue to serve the lodge the best that I can.

From our interactions, I think you would make a wonderful Worshipful, so I'm sure your Brothers are going to miss you in the east. Congrats on a successful year, and the best of luck joining the ranks of the cranky Past Masters club!

You've ran the gamut in BL and I congratulate you, W. Bro. Larry. You have gone on to bigger things with the district level, who knows, maybe you'll take it to the top of KY Freemasonry. That's really leaving your mark. Not to mention you'll probably have more time for the appendant bodies you're in. I know you're a big fan of the YR.

Now you get to join us in the front corner where we laugh and act like we're in charge. The folks who actually ARE in charge rarely act like it. He says looking over at the Secretary's desk praying he keeps getting installed and hoping I don't have to do that ...

Recite after me "I will never say In My Year. Because that's not how we did it In My Year". Snort.

I remember the last time I rapped the gavel in the East as I passed the chair to the next WM. It was an emotional evening for me. "What's hardest to borrow is harder to loan." Congratulations on your accomplishment, Worshipful Brother. ;)

Outstanding Brother Warrior!!! I know you performed your duties with passion and enthusiasm and will continue to serve as an example for others to follow.

Sometime this summer we're going to have to get together.
