What I read in this article is that UGLE has bent the knee to the woke mob and created women lodges to avoid being attacked by them on social media. Sorry for not sounding impressed.

Then you have read it entirely wrong. There are two grand lodges in the UK for women, the Order of Women's Freemasons and the Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons. They have both been in existence for the better part of a century, having formed in the early 20th.

UGLE, whilst not recognising them in a masonic sense, acknowledge their existence and cooperate on matters of mutual interest, one of which is the university schemes.
