That's probably something I should do.... some Anderson’s Constitutions appear in ours, but I love your point - it might be describing Freemasons, not applicants to Freemasonry. One might need to apply the "mischief rule".

I think it's probably just saying atheist - but he just said that in the words prior "stupid atheist nor..".. so my conclusion does not make sense. How much weight you put in Anderson (and you need to put some weight because it is a foundational document) or Preston or Mackey etc etc is always a question, they are just one view of our Philosophy.. but while I ignore thinking like Pike, Anderson3 and Preston both appear in our GLs Constitution for a reason (which might just be historical legitimacy, but I think not).
