Inactive lodge information...

Is there a place online to find information on lodges that were active years ago and then closed? I grew up in a small town that had a lodge at one time but closed many years ago. I wanted to see if I could find out any additional info on it, but google is no help :) Thanks in advance.

the Grand Lodge Library would probably have some information on it, but it would most likely have to be researched in person.

Actually every year there is a Constituent Lodges of Texas that is sent out to all the Lodges. You can purchase this fairly cheap from your Lodge Secretary or contact GL directly. In the back is a list of every lodge that has gone dark or merged. It gives years and more. A good resource to have and you should be able to get it fairly easily. Last year they only sent it out in PDF form. A new one should be out in a month or so. It also lists every Lodge officer in Texas along with contact info. It is good to have if you travel.

I have the newest one, Directory of constituent lodges in Texas 2009-2010. I just go it a couple of weeks ago. You can order it from Grand Lodge at 254-753-7395 I use mne in many ways, I like to look up where brothers on this web site is from (city) and the current officers.
