I was thinking of buying one ever since I got the offer in the mail. I'm glad I didn't now. Thanks for the heads up brother. You'd think the Grand Lodge would be more careful about what they endorse.

I have seen several offers for similar rings through the York Rite as well. Upon closer examination of the sales ad you can see that it is a Silver based ring with a Gold overlay. I have always been hesitant to purchase a ring of this type, and certainly would never use it as a "daily wear" ring. I do have to give them credit for being nicely designed overall.

My question to you is this, have you made or are you going to make an attempt to send the ring back to have the issues corrected or get your money back since you are not satisfied??

I have to disagree. I got my ring about a week ago and I'm very happy with the result. The birthstone shines blue, even as I sit here with my living room lights dimmed down. Mine was in perfect condition, and looking at the square and compass I did have my doubts, but I took it to the local jeweler, a Mason, and he stated it's secured on there tightly. There are always bad apples in every bushel, perhaps you had the non-luck of the draw? I know of two other brothers who received their rings and were very happy with theirs as well. My only complaint was a 4 week long turn around time to get it resized, hence the reason I went and saw my buddy to have him bore it out, it's slightly scratched on the back side now because of something I had done, but that was my decision. It is silver, on the back of the band with a gold overlay on the top, but anyone reading the material would have seen that, as it's advertised as such and is one of the reasons I bought the ring. I personally prefer white gold and silver of yellow gold.

Brother Mark! that's why we have copious discourse in order to identify if it's trending data or conflicting. I'm happy to know I may have just received a bum batch vs. all their rings coming out like mine. I will contact them with my observations to find out what the options are.
