Good evening brothers,

I am a member of Panther City 1183 in Ft Worth and live in downtown Dallas. The distance oftentimes makes it very difficult to participate. I was looking for lodges to visit that are closer to home. Being a younger Master Mason, I prefer lodges that have a younger membership. Can anyone make any recommendations?

Good evening brothers,

I was raised and continue my membership at Panther City 1183 in Ft Worth, but live in downtown Dallas. Unfortunately, this distance oftentimes makes it difficult to participate in lodge activities. I'm on the search for a lodge or lodges to visit in the Plano, Highland Park, and Dallas area. Being a young Master Mason, I prefer lodges with a younger membership. Can anyone make any recommendations for me?

Thanks,

Geoff Gibson

Question. If you live in the downtown area of Dallas, how on earth did you end up at Panther City?

My home lodge "Thomas B. Hunter #1356" located in Grand Prairie is a "young" lodge that is very active. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday for floor school, and degrees are nominally on Thursday evenings. Our Stated Meeting is the first Thursday of each month. You are welcome to join us anytime you feel up to it. We are only about 10 minutes from downtown Dallas.

Go to the GL'a web page and use the Lodge Finder as a start.
You might find more light in talking with the older brothers than the younger ones.

Perhaps I've mispoken brother. I certainly understand the importance and value the knowledge of our elder Masons. At 34 years old, I can also attest to the discomfort one experiences when attending a lodge and realizing that you are the only person under the age of retirement. I suppose the better way to have posed my question would be to ask if any brethren know of any lodges in this area that have a good mix of both younger and elder, wiser Masons.

Lebenon Lodge up in Frisco has a pretty good mix and is very active. I don't know if that is too far for you or not. My buddy up there says they are always busy doing something.

Bro. Stewart,

I lived and worked in Ft. Worth when I was raised. I believe I'm going to be out of town for your March stated meeting, but will certainly come visit your floor school ASAP.

I have a similar question, Brother Stewart, thanks for the Grand Prairie info, I work down there and pass by your lodge often during lunch. I am planning on visiting Sam P Cochran on Monday evening. I moved here from California a couple years ago and I am just getting around to visiting a lodge and finding a new home.

Any Brothers here from Sam P??

Brother Stewart,

May stop in and visit you guys one of these days too..Sam P tomorrow. What day would be better, during a floor night or a degree night? I can follow up with an email to your secretary so he can check out my credentials.

I would suggest a degree night. We should have one comming up because we have one to vote on this Thursday evening along with our DDGM visit.

The next couple of weeks other than the probable EA Degree we are going to be preparing for our Certificate Exams on March 12th.
