McGregor Masonic Lodge #376 Last Stated Meeting in BLD

McGregor Masonic Lodge #376 was chartered June 9, 1873. In 1895 their Lodge building was erected on main street.

Fast forward 116 years later and due to several circumstances they will no longer meet at their home Lodge building after next month.

April 5th will be the last stated meeting for #376 in their historic lodge. Dinner at 6:00 PM, meeting at 7:00 PM.

I think it would be fitting to have as many Mason's there for their last meeting as were there for their first (if not more). I know they would appreciate the sendoff and fellowship.

They are not dissolving the Lodge completely, they will meet at another very generous Lodge until they can raise enough funds to build a new Lodge.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Being in the area, I'll be sure to notify my lodge of this, and we'll ahve to go visit them in April.

Which lodge are they temporaily moving their meeting too?

The Brothers at Crawford Masonic Lodge # 585 have been gracious enough to host McGregor for the interim.

Thought it might be them. They are a good group of guys in Crawford. Looking forward to their outdoor degree this year.

I just wanted to remind everyone that this is taking place tomorrow and I hope to see you there.

The last stated meeting for McGregor Lodge #376 in their 116 year old building went off without a hitch last night. Every chair was full and then some.Denton Stanford Lodge #594 supplied the meal and Brothers from several different districts attended. It did the heart good to send off the Lodge building in such a great way. As everyone was reminded, it might be the last meeting for McGregor in that lodge room but by no means the last meeting of Lodge #376.

Thank you for the news. I'm happy to see brethren showed up in force to pay respect. I wish the lodge good luck in their future.

Brothers, I have the extreme pleasure to post an update on this story. As of last month, the McGregor Lodge # 376 was to read their resolution for the third time to officially close their lodge and become part of Crawford. On the day that they were to read the resolution for the third time, the city of McGregor popped in and offered to donate land on main street in McGregor for them to build a new lodge building. Not only did they get these two lots donated but they received two petitions for membership as well.

This is a great turn of events for McGregor Lodge # 376 and they have been filled with a new breath of vitality and hope. They are going to start getting bids to erect a steel building and will depend on the Fraternity to help them complete their building with as little cost as possible. It's not often a small town lodge gets a second chance to thrive but McGregor has been granted that chance and they plan to take advantage of that chance and revitalize Masonry in McGregor! What a blessed turn of events.

They sold the original building because they didn't have the funds to bring it up to code and maintain the building. Once they sold the building they had funds to build a new one but not enough to purchase land and a building. Now they will be able to build a new Lodge.
